2018 Jump the Border Northwest Tour (Sun, August 5 – Sun, August 27)
This is gonna be a good one, eh! This three week adventure starts in SLC and snakes its way north through Idaho and into eastern Washington, before jumping the border into Canada to see what adventures we can find, and maybe even a little BBQ with Canadian Olympian, Tory Nyhaug. And if you want iconic, look no further than the mother of all downhill mountain bike parks…Whistler! Yeah, we’re hitting it. We’ll cap it off with the USA BMX Lumberjack Nationals in Sumner, WA! It’s an adventure, worthy of cycling royalty!
Three weeks, three states, one Canadian province, and countless good times!
Week One: We will depart from Salt Lake City on Sunday, August 5th, and wiggle our way up through Idaho, stopping to hit up some local tracks along the way and a day of rafting on the Payette River. Toward the end of week one, we’ll check out the beautiful northern Idaho town of Coeur D’Alene and hit Cherry Hill BMX.
Week Two: From Coeur D’Alene, we’ll cross over into eastern Washington for a session at Spokane BMX before jumping the border into British Columbia, Canada! BC is full of great tracks and friendly people, so we’ll roam around checking it out, and HOPEFULLY stop by for a BBQ with our favorite Canadian Olympian, Tory Nyhaug. If Tory isn’t home, we’ll still stop off and eat all his food, and check out Vancouver by bike! If that’s not enough, we will cap off the week with two days of the most fun you can hope to have on a bicycle, at the World’s premiere downhill biking destination, Whistler! Your tour includes two days of lift tickets and bike rental!
Week Three: After the madness of Whistler, it will be time to get back into BMX race mode. We’ll head south into Washington and get things fine-tuned at the Seattle area local tracks. We’ll also cruise around downtown Seattle by bike, and try to catch a flying fish at the world-famous Pike Place Fish Market. The trip will conclude with the USA BMX Lumberjack Nationals at River Valley BMX in Sumner, WA, where you’ll be treated to a first-class, pro-caliber pit set-up and TM services by the six-time Vet Pro Champ himself, Jason Carnes!
